Rob Clayton, the SVP for the Nutrien Ag Solutions Retail business in North America, shares his thoughts as 2024 ends, and what we’re looking ahead to in 2025.

As 2024 comes to a close, I wanted to share some thoughts about how the year went, as well as what we’re focused on as we head into 2025. First, safety was and continues to be our number one priority. We all have a responsibility to ensure ourselves, our loved ones and our co-workers remain safe and healthy. We will continue to keep safety at the forefront of everything we do.

Next, I want to highlight Nutrien Financial. This business unit develops and administers credit programs that Nutrien Ag Solutions branches can offer to support their customers crop input needs. These financing opportunities allow customers to purchase inputs at the right agronomic time and avoid yield loss through delayed purchasing due to farm cashflow timing. I'm proud that Nutrien is stepping up to responsibly support our growers cashflow and input needs as this support is essential in achieving our combined task of feeding a growing planet.  

We also had a good year with plant nutrition as Loveland Products consistently provided yield and ROI improvements for our grower customers. Another highlight for 2024 was the continued success of TERRAMAR in its second year on the market. We saw outstanding results for our farmers dealing with heat, drought, and water saturation stress. Looking into 2025, we’ll have a focus on growing farmer understanding of our Loveland Products range, with every Nutrien Ag Solutions branch supporting this effort. Additionally, we’ll also work to grow our seed business, increase our efficiency through new site constructions, and deliver exceptional service through our extensive application equipment range. By leveraging the collective expertise of our 4,000 agronomists, we aim to boost both the profitability and sustainability of our farmer customers. Our teams are committed to educating and promoting our innovative products and solutions, with an overall strategy of making Nutrien the partner of choice for our grower customers.

Overall, we had a great year at Nutrien Ag Solutions and I’m looking forward to all we can accomplish in 2025. As we head into the busy holiday season, we thank our customers and suppliers for their support. I hope you all get an opportunity to spend time with family and friends and rejuvenate for 2025.
